Our curriculum framework embodies UNESCO’s four pillars of Education for the 21st Century

Learning to:

  • Know – acquire knowledge and understanding

  • Do – develop skills and abilities

  • Be – reflect on values, beliefs and identity

  • Live Together – valuing social cohesion and inclusion to achieve shared goals

Omni Academies focuses on the broader impact education has on students and the world around them.

Our inclusive, integrated approach to the Australian Curriculum removes barriers to learning by working beyond the traditional separation of subjects, knowledge and skills, instilling an integrated approach through projects and concepts.

Students are co-creators, ensuring content is relevant.

Our pedagogical approach focuses on intentional teaching and the principles of inquiry. We foster a strong sense of autonomy, mastery and purpose in learning.

At Omni, we set students up for success

  • Explorative learning empowers Omni students as agents of change. They become lifelong learners, not afraid to explore the unknown, adapt to new situations, and actively seek solutions to create a better future.

Explorative learning goes beyond rote memorisation, encouraging students to be active participants, ask questions, think critically, and seek answers through independent research, connecting with experts and testing theories.

  • Omni promotes goal-oriented, future-focused learning; encouraging the shift from achievement to accomplishing growth. Personal improvement, rather than comparison with peers is promoted, demonstrated in feedback and reporting.

The diverse curriculum provides experiential and project-based learning opportunities. Students are able to draw on their strengths and set challenges to their own learning journey, with supportive teacher guidance.

  • At Omni, we believe in the purposeful use of technology, with equitable access to digital resources across each curriculum area.

Technology is used as a tool, allowing students to develop their abilities efficiently and appropriately, while remaining safe in our digital age; without it being the only source of their learning.

  • Omni's futures-focused curriculum ensures students are not only competent in the digital realm but are also prepared to contribute meaningfully to a rapidly changing society.

Equipped with the necessary resources, knowledge, and computational thinking skills to succeed in the digital age, Omni students will learn to leverage technology for productivity, creativity, and innovation, enabling them to thrive in an increasingly interconnected and globalised world.

  • Students will have opportunities to become autonomous, self-directed learners with the following attributes:

    • Self-awareness: independent, regulated, future-focused, and determined.

    • Emotional resilience: able to manage emotions through acceptance, mental flexibility, and perspective.

    • Intrinsic motivation: understanding what motivates them, and how they interact with others.

    • Compassion: able to recognise, identify and empathetically respond to others and to themselves.

  • Students will learn the skills to be digitally literate, financially savvy and adaptable to help them navigate complex careers of the future and thrive in every aspect of their lives.

  • It is important that learners have a say in what is being taught and how they express what they learn.

Omni's pedagogical framework allows for both teacher and student voice and determination for the way content and skills are learnt and how learning is facilitated.

  • Intellectual risk-taking allows individuals the courage to try new things, make mistakes, and persevere.

With a focus on mental agility, Omni fosters cognitive reasoning and flexibility, empowering students to adapt their approaches, embrace diverse perspectives, and expand their horizons.

  • Students need to be exposed to ‘difference’ to truly understand the world they live in and engage with. To know themselves, have a sense of their own identity and build, maintain and test their limits and emotional resilience.

  • The Omni curriculum allows students to develop a deeper understanding of the subject matter, fostering their curiosity and passion for learning.

  • Connected: to self, peers, adults and both the local and global community, engaged in real-world learning and solutions-driven curriculum.

  • Collaborative: honing students’ strengths and the ability to work with others to achieve goals, sharing in and celebrating the successes of others.

  • Entrepreneurial: students are divergent thinkers, able to implement their developed and innate skills in leadership, critical thinking, self-esteem, knowledge, and managing resources to develop, promote and create an entrepreneurial mindset that values innovation and collaboration, as a desired skillset for the future.
